Erik Schmidt is a kicker for Notre Dame. The Milwaukee native and Marquette University High School product was a three-star recruit ranked as the top kicker in the nation by the composite recruiting rankings. As a freshman in 2025, Schmidt appeared in 10 games for the Irish. He converted 40 of 41 PAT attempts and kicked off 70 times for 4,489 yards, averaging 64.1 yards per kickoff with 55 touchbacks. Schmidt set a program record with 10 PATs made against Syracuse and became the first Irish freshman kicker to convert a PAT since 2015.
