Robert Fitzgerald is a 6'0", 210-pound free safety for Northwestern. The Dallas native and Jesuit College Prep product committed to the Wildcats in June 2021 as a three-star recruit. He appeared in two games during his 2022 first-year campaign before taking a redshirt. In 2025 as a redshirt senior, Fitzgerald started all 13 games and recorded 114 total tackles, 69 solo tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, four pass breakups, one interception and one fumble recovery. His 114 tackles marked the first time a Northwestern defensive back surpassed 110 tackles since at least 1995, and he earned All-Big Ten Second-Team honors.
