Josh Veldman is a linebacker for Northwestern. The 6'5", 210-pound true freshman from New Lenox, Illinois, attended Lincoln-Way West High School, where he was named Class 7A All-State as a senior in 2024. During his junior year in 2023, he tallied 110 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, six pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and two sacks. As a senior, he led Lincoln-Way West to its first playoff win in six years. A three-star recruit ranked No. 144 nationally at linebacker, Veldman committed to Northwestern in March 2024. He made his collegiate debut against Tulane on August 30, 2025, and appeared in five games during his first season.
