Lane Mahnesmith is a redshirt sophomore offensive lineman for Northern Illinois, wearing number 66. The 6'8", 320-pound native of Troy, Illinois, attended Triad High School, where he earned three varsity letters and was named team captain in 2023 while earning First Team All-Conference honors. After redshirting in 2024, Mahnesmith appeared in four regular-season contests and the bowl game against Fresno State on 12/23. In 2025, he saw action in eight games against Holy Cross, Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Ball State, Toledo, UMass, Western Michigan, and Kent State while serving on the field goal and PAT unit, and earned Academic All-MAC honors.
