A three-star recruit ranked No. 53 at his position nationally by recruiting services, Cross appeared in the 2025 and 2024 seasons with the Mountaineers while preserving a redshirt in 2024. In high school, he earned Pennsylvania Writers Class A All-State first-team honors in 2023 and was named to the 2023 Pennsylvania All-Star Football team. As a senior, he recorded 69 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 528 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. Cross transferred to North Texas for the 2026 season.
