Najee Nelson is a left cornerback for North Dakota State at 5'11" and 197 pounds. A Lakeville, Minnesota native and 2023 graduate of Lakeville North High School, Nelson was a three-year starter and team captain who recorded seven career interceptions and 70 tackles. He redshirted in 2023, appearing in five games and tallying two tackles with one interception and one pass breakup against Southern Illinois. As a freshman in 2024, Nelson played in eight games on defense and special teams, recording two tackles and two pass breakups versus Murray State. He earned MVFC Honor Roll recognition and the 2024 MVFC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award. Nelson appeared in six games during the 2025 season, recording three tackles. He is a returning redshirt junior majoring in business administration.
