Hudson Artz is a safety from Fairmont, Minnesota, where he graduated in 2022 after serving as team captain. At Fairmont High School, he recorded 138 career tackles, three interceptions, and one defensive touchdown while earning all-conference honors three times. He redshirted in 2022 at North Dakota State, then appeared in three games as a freshman in 2023 with two tackles against Western Illinois. In 2024, his sophomore season, Artz played in 14 games on special teams and made 12 total tackles, including four on kickoff coverage and a season-high four in the home-opener against Tennessee State. He earned MVFC academic awards and made his NCAA playoff debut against Abilene Christian. Artz appeared in all 13 games in 2025 as a backup safety and recorded a pass breakup versus Northern Iowa.
