Gage Schmidt is a center for North Dakota State who majors in business administration. The North Mankato, Minnesota native graduated from Mankato West High School in 2024, where he was a three-year starter on both offensive and defensive line under coach JJ Helget. He earned two-time all-district honors and two-time district lineman of the year recognition, and was part of a 13-0 Class 5A state championship team as a sophomore. Schmidt redshirted in 2024 and earned MVFC Honor Roll selection. In 2025, his freshman season, he appeared in 12 games as a backup center for an NDSU offensive line that ranked seventh in the FCS in rushing yards per game.
