Jakob Weatherspoon is a safety from Avon, Ohio, who joins North Carolina as a true freshman. At Avon High School, he earned first-team All-Conference and All-Ohio honors during his prep career. As a junior, he recorded 73 total tackles with two interceptions while helping Avon finish 16-0 and win an Ohio state championship. He added 50 tackles and two interceptions as a sophomore.
