Deshaun Buchanan is a running back from Chandler, Arizona, who transferred to New Mexico after two seasons at Idaho. During his 2024 redshirt freshman year with the Vandals, he led the team in rushing with 567 yards on 79 carries and five touchdowns across nine games. He recorded back-to-back 100-yard performances against Eastern Washington (116 yards, two touchdowns on eight carries) and Portland State (212 yards, two touchdowns on 22 carries), earning Co-Big Sky Player of the Week honors. In 2025, his first season with the Lobos, Buchanan appeared in all 13 games, recording seven rushing attempts for 14 yards and six receptions for 56 yards while contributing on special teams.
