Javon Gillespie is a cornerback from Columbia, South Carolina, who began his college career at Coastal Carolina. He appeared in one game during his 2023 freshman season before redshirting. The following year he took the field in three games as a redshirt freshman. Gillespie transferred to East Texas A&M, where as a redshirt sophomore in 2025 he played in all 12 games, recording 32 total tackles and eight pass breakups. He posted two interceptions, both against Stephen F. Austin, and registered a season-high five tackles against both Lamar and UTRGV. Standing 6'1" and weighing 185 pounds, Gillespie now plays for New Mexico State as a transfer.
