David Barker is a kicker from Brisbane, Australia, who attended Cavendish Road State HS. The redshirt freshman made his collegiate debut for New Mexico State in 2025, appearing in three games. Against Kennesaw State on September 8, he recorded six punts for 267 yards at a 44.5-yard average. Barker made his first field goal attempt against No. 21/20 Tennessee on November 11 and later connected on two field goals against UTEP on November 22, including a 46-yard make. He finished the season converting 3 of 3 field goal attempts with 4 of 5 extra points made, earning CUSA Special Teams Player of the Week honors following his UTEP performance.
