Mykel Ford is a redshirt freshman defensive back for Nevada wearing number 28. The Oklahoma City native attended Putnam City West High School, where he was a three-star recruit by recruiting services. During his high school career, Ford recorded 100 tackles with two interceptions and nine passes defended across four varsity seasons. As a senior in 2024, he tallied 33 tackles. Ford also played wide receiver on offense, collecting 30 receptions and three touchdowns during his time at the prep level. In his 2025 redshirt season, Ford made one collegiate appearance, making his debut against San José State on November 15.
