Rex Guthrie is a safety from Littleton, Colorado, who attended Heritage High School under Coach Tyler Knoblock. A consensus top 10 prospect in Colorado, Guthrie redshirted during the 2024 season. In 2025 as a redshirt freshman, he appeared in all 13 games with eight starts, recording 63 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, and one pass breakup. His 63 tackles ranked second-most by a Nebraska freshman since 1972, and he became only the third Husker freshman to reach 60 tackles in a season. Guthrie earned Academic All-Big Ten honors and was named Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar (Second Team). He currently majors in finance.
