Daniel Kaelin is a 6'3", 220-pound quarterback from Elkhorn, Nebraska, who attended Bellevue West High School. A three-star recruit ranked 698th nationally in the 2024 class, Kaelin was regarded as one of Nebraska's top five players and participated in the Elite 11 Camp. He redshirted at Nebraska in 2024 as the No. 3 quarterback. In 2025, his redshirt freshman season at Virginia, Kaelin appeared in seven games, going 30-of-52 passing for 339 yards, one touchdown, and one interception while adding 72 rushing yards on 12 carries. Against Wake Forest, he completed 18 of 28 passes for 145 yards and rushed six times for 49 yards in his most extensive action of the season.
