Malae Fonoti is a running back from La'ie, Hawai'i, who played high school football at Kahuku before committing to Montana. At Kahuku, he rushed for 1,102 yards and 14 touchdowns as a senior while averaging 6.7 yards per carry, and was named first-team All-Hawaii. During his 2024 season at Montana, Fonoti appeared in three games and recorded 234 rushing yards with one touchdown on 36 carries while maintaining redshirt eligibility. In 2025, he played in 11 games, rushing 48 times for 184 yards and four touchdowns while adding 10 receptions for 97 yards. Fonoti has since transferred to Missouri as a redshirt sophomore.
