John Butcher is a punter from San Diego, California who transferred to Missouri following two seasons at Grossmont Community College. At Grossmont (2023-24), he appeared in 19 games and punted 114 times for 4,256 yards, averaging 37.33 yards per punt. He downed 33 punts inside the opponent's 20-yard line, recorded 15 punts of 50 or more yards, and achieved a career-long 79-yard punt against Palomar College in 2024. Butcher also handled field goals and extra points, converting 9-of-9 PATs and going 2-of-4 on field goal attempts, including a 38-yarder against Southwestern in 2023. He earned First Team All-Southern California Football Association National Division honors in 2024.
