CJ Bass III is a 6'2", 209-pound nickelback for the Missouri Tigers. The St. Louis native attended East St. Louis Senior High School in Illinois, where he lettered three seasons under head coach Darren Sunkett. As a recruit, he earned four-star status from Rivals.com and three-star ratings from recruiting services, ranking between No. 4 and No. 14 among Illinois prospects depending on the service. At the high school level, he recorded 244 tackles, 160 solo stops, one sack, two interceptions, and two fumble recoveries while helping lead East St. Louis to a 35-6 record over three years, including two state titles. In 2025, Bass appeared in all 13 games for Mizzou, compiling four total tackles and one pass deflection while posting one solo tackle.
