Josh Joyner is a running back from Oxnard, California, who transferred to Missouri State after one season at Washington State. At Pacifica High School, he was a four-year starter and all-state selection, recording 782 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns on 106 carries as a senior, along with 25 receptions for 275 yards and 5 touchdowns. As a junior, he compiled 933 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on 111 carries with 29 catches for 440 yards and 4 touchdowns. Joyner played in one game for Washington State in 2024, carrying twice for 10 yards against No. 21 Syracuse in the Holiday Bowl. In 2025, his first year with the Bears, he did not appear in games while earning a redshirt and was named scout team player of the week twice.
