Matt Mayfield is a 6'2" wide receiver from Sunset, Louisiana who initially committed to Mississippi State in April 2023 out of Beau Chene High School before attending Copiah-Lincoln Community College. At Co-Lin, Mayfield recorded 28 receptions for 502 yards and three touchdowns across two seasons and earned 3-star status as the 31st-ranked JUCO prospect and sixth-best JUCO receiver nationally. He recommitted to Mississippi State on July 29, 2025, choosing the Bulldogs over East Carolina, Liberty and other programs.
