Jatavious Montrel Johnson, known as Boogie, is a 6'2", 200-pound safety from Hooks, Texas. At Hooks High School, he earned 1,627 receiving yards and 21 receiving touchdowns on 100 receptions while recording 152 career tackles, eight interceptions and four fumble recoveries. Johnson made his collegiate debut for Mississippi State on August 31, 2024, appearing in three games as a true freshman before earning a redshirt. In 2025, he played in one game, appearing in the Duke's Mayo Bowl after missing much of the season due to injury. He returns as a redshirt sophomore for the Bulldogs.
