Tavian White is a defensive back for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The 5'11", 180-pound true freshman from Waukee, Iowa, was a three-star recruit ranked as the No. 57 athlete in the country by recruiting services. At Waukee High School, White wore No. 1 for the Warriors under coach Gabe Bakker, earning two-time all-district honors and team captain recognition for two consecutive years. Over three seasons of varsity play, he allowed only two touchdowns and blocked five field goals. White also competed in track and field and basketball, qualifying for the Junior Olympics and Drake Relays while recording six school track and field records.
