Benny Patterson III is a redshirt freshman defensive end from Newburgh, Indiana who attended Castle High School. A four-star recruit, Patterson recorded 70 tackles, 14.0 tackles for loss, and 7.0 sacks as a senior in 2024, adding two forced fumbles and one touchdown across 12 games. At Michigan, he earned his first varsity letter in 2025 after contributing on special teams in five contests and seeing snaps along the edge in two games. He also played the defensive line against Texas in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on December 31.
