Rhys Dakin is a punter from Melbourne, Australia, who attended Mazenod College before playing two seasons at Iowa. During his 2024 freshman year, he earned FWAA Freshman All-American and All-True Freshman honors while averaging 44.1 yards per punt across 64 punts for 2,822 yards. In 2025 as a sophomore, he maintained a 43.6-yard average and earned honorable mention All-Big Ten recognition. Over his Iowa career, Dakin compiled 106 punts for 4,655 yards (43.9 average) with 47 punts inside the 20-yard line and 26 of 50-plus yards. He transferred to Michigan State in January 2026 and was selected second team preseason All-Big Ten by Phil Steele and Athlon Sports.
