Zechariah Poyser is a 6'2", 200-pound free safety from Wildwood, Florida, who transferred to Miami after a two-year stint at Jacksonville State. At Jacksonville State, he recorded 75 total tackles and three interceptions as a redshirt freshman in 2024, earning Football Writers Association of America Freshman All-America honors. In his first season with the Hurricanes, Poyser started all 16 games and compiled 68 total tackles (42 solo) with three tackles for loss, one sack, and six pass breakups. He also recorded two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. Poyser earned All-ACC Honorable Mention recognition and delivered notable performances against Virginia Tech, with 10 tackles and one sack, and against Texas A&M in the College Football Playoff opener with six tackles.
