Malachi Toney, a 5'11" wide receiver from Liberty City, Florida, arrived at Miami as a four-star recruit in the 2025 class. In his true freshman season, Toney set a Miami single-season record with 109 receptions and 1,211 receiving yards while adding 10 receiving touchdowns. He contributed 113 rushing yards with one touchdown and returned punts for 298 yards, totaling 1,622 all-purpose yards. Toney also completed 4 of 7 passes for 82 yards with 2 touchdowns in wildcat packages. Named ACC Rookie of the Year and ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year, he earned AP All-America Second Team honors and FWAA Offensive Freshman of the Year. Toney recorded five 100-yard receiving games and posted double-digit catches in multiple contests throughout the season.
