Mason Ellens is a safety from Glen Ellyn, Illinois, who prepped at Glenbard West under head coach Chad Hetlet. A three-star recruit and top-100 safety nationally by recruiting services, Ellens was rated the No. 26 athlete nationally by national outlets and tabbed as the No. 24 player in Illinois. In his senior season, he registered 56 tackles, two interceptions and three pass breakups while earning All-State honors twice (2023, '24) and All-County selection both years. He also competed in track and field, qualifying for state in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay. Ellens redshirted the 2025 season at Iowa State and is a returning redshirt freshman at Miami (OH).
