Aedan McCarthy is a true freshman quarterback for the Massachusetts Minutemen. The 6'5", 220-pound signal-caller comes from Bluffton High School in South Carolina, where he was a three-year varsity letterwinner. Over his high school career, McCarthy completed 431 of 664 passes for 6,643 yards and 69 touchdowns while adding 1,398 rushing yards on 198 carries with 20 touchdowns. As a senior, he threw for 3,543 yards with 31 touchdowns and rushed for 629 yards and 10 touchdowns on 76 carries, earning his conference's Offensive Player of the Year award. McCarthy also played varsity soccer as a goalkeeper for one season.
