Sean O'Haire, a kicker from Kildare, Ireland, transferred to Maryland from Richmond. In his redshirt freshman season in 2025, O'Haire appeared in all 12 games and converted 21 of 24 field goal attempts with a 49-yard long, alongside 29 of 29 extra points for 92 total points. He led the Big Ten with 1.75 field goals made per game and ranked ninth nationally. His 21 made field goals tied for third-most in a single Maryland season, while his 87.5 percent conversion rate on field goals ranked second in program history. O'Haire earned First Team All-Big Ten honors and the Lou Groza Award. He led all FBS freshmen in field goals made and percentage while setting Maryland freshman records for both categories and scoring.
