Mekhai White is a 6'5" defensive back for the Maryland Terrapins, wearing jersey No. 8. A four-star recruit from King George, Virginia, he was rated the No. 7 overall prospect in the state via recruiting services and received offers from Michigan, Ole Miss, Penn State, Georgia, and Virginia Tech before committing to Maryland. As a freshman in 2024, he did not appear in games. White transitioned from wide receiver to defensive back and appeared in 11 games during his redshirt sophomore season in 2025, primarily on special teams. In high school, he recorded 62 receptions for 1,362 yards and 19 receiving touchdowns, along with 8 interceptions on defense.
