From Reston, Virginia, Willson attended Herndon High School, where he earned All-VHSL Class 6 State Football Second Team honors and Liberty District Player of the Year accolades as a senior with 1,657 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns. He spent 2024 on the Wake Forest baseball roster, appearing in nine games with seven starts.
