A four-star prospect, Anderson ranked as the nation's No. 11 tight end and No. 8 overall prospect in Illinois according to the recruiting services composite, with national outlets listing him as high as No. 3 nationally at the position. At Mt. Zion High School, he earned two all-state selections and holds the program's career receiving records with 138 receptions and 1,568 yards. As a senior in 2025, Anderson caught 46 passes for 578 yards and 8 touchdowns while scoring 13 total touchdowns that season.
