Lawayne McCoy is a 6'1", 180-pound wide receiver from Miami, Florida, who transferred to Louisville from Florida State. A four-star recruit ranked 177th overall in the 2024 class, McCoy appeared in 10 games as a freshman in 2024, catching six passes for 52 yards while serving as FSU's primary punt returner. In 2025, he played in 10 games with seven starts, recording 27 catches for 396 yards and three touchdowns. McCoy also added one punt return for 32 yards and became the fourth player in FSU history to record receiving touchdowns against Miami, Clemson, and Florida in the same season. His 2025 season included a career-high six receptions for 110 yards against Florida.
