Steven Ranel II is a safety for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. The 6'1", 205-pound defensive back from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, attended Central High School, where he earned two first-team All-District 4-5A selections and tied the school single-game record with three interceptions. He chose Louisiana over Louisiana Tech and Arkansas State. In 2025, Ranel recorded 4 total tackles and 1 fumble recovery as a redshirt freshman. He returns to the roster for the 2026 season.
