Troy Smith III is a right tackle from New Orleans who attended St. Augustine HS, where he earned three-star recruit status and was named first team all-district as a senior. Smith arrived at Louisiana Tech in 2023 and redshirted his freshman year. He saw no action during his redshirt freshman campaign in 2024. In 2025, Smith appeared in 11 games as a reserve offensive lineman, making his collegiate debut on August 30 against Southeastern. He enters 2026 as a redshirt junior.
