Lorenzo Payne, a 6'1" defensive lineman from Apopka, Florida, transferred to Liberty from West Florida. During his time at the Argonauts, Payne appeared in 17 games across the 2024-25 seasons. In 2024, he logged five games with 10 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. His 2025 campaign included 12 appearances, earning Gulf South Conference first-team all-conference recognition. That season he recorded 23 tackles, 12.0 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, four quarterback hurries, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery as West Florida finished 10-2 and reached the NCAA Division II playoff second round. Payne joined Liberty as a junior/transfer in 2026.
