Tommy Newcomb is a placekicker for Kent State who hails from LaGrange, Illinois, where he attended Lyons Township High School. At Lyons Township, he recorded a long kick of 47 yards. Newcomb joined Kent State as a 2024 recruit and did not appear in games during the 2024 season. He returns as a redshirt sophomore for the 2026 campaign.
