Elijah Cannon is a left cornerback from Coconut Creek, Florida, who transfers to Kansas after two seasons at Mississippi State. A 3-star recruit in the 2024 class, he committed to Mississippi State in December 2023. In 2024, Cannon played in four games and earned a redshirt while recording four tackles and one interception returned for a touchdown. Against Eastern Kentucky on August 31, he made his collegiate debut with one tackle and a 51-yard pick six, posting a defensive grade of 93.8 on nine snaps. During the 2025 season, Cannon appeared in 10 games, including the final seven contests, and recorded one tackle against Arkansas.
