Dane Efird is a placekicker for the Kansas Jayhawks from Branson, Missouri. He began playing football as a high school freshman after his coach recruited him to kick. At Branson HS, Efird earned two All-Ozarks selections and All-State Class 5 honors in 2023 and 2024. In 2024, he made all 59 extra point attempts and converted 6 of 10 field goals with a long of 47 yards. During the 2025 season, Efird appeared in one game against Wagner as a true freshman, kicking off twice for 129 yards and converting on 1-of-1 extra points.
