Max Baloun is a 6'6", 293-pound defensive tackle from Redfield, South Dakota, who transfers to Iowa State as a redshirt senior. Baloun played at South Dakota State from 2020–2024, appearing in all 15 games in both 2022 and 2023 as part of national championship teams. During his 2024 campaign, he started all 15 games and recorded 18 tackles with 4.5 for loss, including two sacks, while forcing a fumble and blocking a kick. In 2025 at Washington State, he started the first four games before a season-ending injury, totaling five tackles with three for loss and one sack.
