Cameron Pettaway is a running back from Farmington Hills, Michigan who transferred to Iowa State from Bowling Green. At Farmington High School, he was a three-star recruit who rushed for 1,186 yards and 26 touchdowns as a junior. During his 2025 freshman season at Bowling Green, Pettaway appeared in nine games with four starts, earning FWAA Freshman All-American honors and MAC Freshman of the Year. He led the nation in kick return average at 33.0 on 12 returns for 396 yards, including a 98-yard touchdown return against Lafayette. On the ground, he recorded 365 rushing yards on 72 attempts with eight receptions for 139 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
