Preston Zachman is a safety from Elysburg, Pennsylvania, who attended Southern Columbia High School before joining Wisconsin in 2020. The 6'2", 209-pound defensive back appeared in 35 games with 20 starts across six seasons (2020–25) with the Badgers, including a redshirt year, while missing time due to injury in 2021 and portions of 2022 and 2025. Zachman recorded seven career interceptions, including multiple picks in three consecutive seasons. In 2024, he started all 12 games and posted a 10-tackle performance against Rutgers while earning All-Big Ten academic honors for the fifth time. He transferred to Indiana as a graduate student in 2026.
