Tanner Hollinger is a tight end for the Illinois Fighting Illini standing 6'5" and weighing 245 pounds. A native of Stromsburg, Nebraska, Hollinger played 8-man football at Cross County High School under head coach Matt Carroll, where he was a four-year letterwinner and two-time all-state selection. As a senior, he recorded 23 receptions for 408 yards and 12 touchdowns, while posting 13 receptions for 141 yards and three touchdowns as a junior. A three-star recruit by recruiting services, Hollinger redshirted during the 2024 freshman season and played in one game in 2025 as a redshirt freshman.
