Re'Shaun Sanford II is a running back for the Houston Cougars who attended Harker Heights High School in Texas. A three-star recruit and nation's No. 122-ranked running back in the 2023 class, Sanford redshirted his freshman year in 2023 after suffering a preseason injury. In 2024 as a redshirt freshman, he appeared in all 12 games with six starts, recording 444 rushing yards on 94 carries (4.7 yards per attempt) and 157 receiving yards on 19 receptions. He forced 31 missed tackles rushing and earned All-Big 12 Conference academic honors. Sanford returns as a redshirt junior in 2026 after being injured during fall camp in 2025.
