Taylor Powell is a 6'4", 205-pound safety from Belleville, Illinois who attended East St. Louis High School before playing at Northern Illinois. At NIU, Powell appeared in all 12 games during the 2025 season, starting in the final four contests. He recorded 35 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. Powell posted a season-high eight tackles against Western Michigan on November 18 and forced both fumbles in the same game at Ohio on October 18. He transferred to Fresno State as a redshirt sophomore.
