Marsel Akins is a left tackle from Tulare, California who attends El Diamante High School, where he earned first-team all-league honors on the offensive line and was named 2023 All-East Yosemite League Offensive Lineman of the Year. A three-star recruit in the Class of 2024, Akins redshirted his freshman season in 2024. During 2025, his redshirt sophomore year, he appeared in two games as a special teams contributor, including contests against Kansas and Colorado State. He is majoring in criminology with an emphasis in corrections.
