Daniel Hughes is a punter from Melbourne, Australia, who attended Mount Erin College before playing at City College of San Francisco and the University of New Mexico. At New Mexico in 2025, he appeared in 12 games and punted 41 times for 1,863 yards at a 45.4-yard average. He placed 13 punts inside the 20-yard line, recorded 13 punts of at least 50 yards, and achieved a career-long 64-yard punt against San Jose State. Hughes earned Ray Guy Award semifinalist honors and All-Mountain West honorable mention recognition. He previously punted 49 times at City College of San Francisco with a 37.3-yard average and played Australian Rules Football for the Northern Bullants in 2021 and 2022.
