Malachi James is a 5'11", 205-pound running back from Willingboro, New Jersey, who transferred to Eastern Michigan for the 2026 season after two years at Syracuse. At Burlington City High School, he was a three-star prospect ranked No. 17 in New Jersey by recruiting services and earned All-County, All-South Jersey, and Second Team All-State honors. He recorded 25 catches for 609 yards and eight touchdowns, along with 35 carries for 479 yards and five touchdowns in his senior year. At Syracuse, James appeared in eight games over two seasons, primarily on special teams, accumulating nine kickoff returns for 168 yards and two rushing attempts for -2 yards. He enrolled at Eastern Michigan in Winter 2026.
