DeMarius Hines is a sophomore defensive back from Atlanta, Georgia, who attended Westlake High School. A three-year letterman, he recorded 83 career stops across 23 varsity games while adding two interceptions for 53 return yards and two forced fumbles. He committed to East Carolina in June 2023 and signed in December 2024. In his 2024 freshman season, Hines appeared in 12 of the Pirates' 13 games, logging 164 total snaps (83 defensive, 81 on special teams) and earning his first varsity letter with six tackles, one solo. He posted career highs of two tackles each against Temple and Florida Atlantic. A preseason injury sidelined him throughout the 2025 season. Hines was named to the American Conference All-Academic Team in 2024 and the ECU Director of Athletics Honor Roll in spring 2025.
