Samu Taumanupepe is a nose tackle from Humble, Texas, who played varsity football at Atascocita High School. As a senior, he recorded 60 tackles with six tackles for loss, one interception, and one pass breakup, earning all-district honors as a junior. He was rated a three-star prospect nationally, ranking No. 888 overall and No. 96 at defensive lineman. Taumanupepe redshirted at Texas A&M in 2023, then appeared in two games in 2024, tallying six tackles including four against McNeese. He transferred to Baylor for 2025, playing in six games as a reserve with two total tackles. He joins Colorado as an undergraduate transfer with two years of eligibility remaining.
